To make this craft, you will need:
To start, split the package of red clay into thirds. Roll 1/3 of the clay into a ball to make the head, and 2/3 of the clay into a ball to make the body.
On the back of the silver glitter foam, draw the Monkey ears (about the size of M & Ms), an oval face, and a stomach in an egg/potato shape. On the red glitter foam, draw a small heart shape about an inch tall, arms, feet and a tail. It helps to practice drawing the shapes onto paper first and then comparing the proportions to the clay balls you have made for the head and body. You can use those paper cut outs as templates when you draw on the foam.
When you have finished drawing the shapes on to foam, cut out the shapes.
Glue the foam pieces to the body. For the face, first glue down the heart shape, then glue the oval shape lying longwise just below the two bumps of the heart.
Use glitter glue to draw the nose and mouth (this will look a bit like a smiley face on it’s own).
Add googly eyes into the two bumps of the heart and a red ribbon bow to give your love monkey a bow tie, then finish with a little extra embellishment. I added a toothpick with a heart cut-out. It kind of looks like he is holding a sign or a balloon, no?
Have fun & get scribbley!
