Spooky Pretzels

One of my favorite snack foods has got to be the pretzel. It’s crunchy and salty, it’s tasty on its own, and it pairs well with both sweet and savory ingredients. You can dip it in chocolate or cheese and both will be delicious (just not at the same time… unless you’re really adventurous).

Sometimes it’s fun to pick a favorite snack and then create variations on a theme with it. Here are a few different ideas for bringing Halloween flair to some yummy pretzel treats.

These pumpkin pretzels from Make Bake Celebrate are too cute for words! Chocolate-covered and dipped in sprinkles, they’re the perfect salty-sweet combination. Add leaves and stems with some piped chocolate for added detail.

You can never have enough chocolate covered pretzels! For a fun variation on the same flavors, you must try these Frankenstein pretzels! Grab pretzel rods, green melting chocolate, black gel icing, chocolate kisses, and shredded coconut. With some simple assembly, you can make the perfect creepy cuties to compliment your bright pumpkin pretzels.

Finally, let’s finish up with a savory pretzel dish. With some pretzel sticks, string cheese, and chives for garnish, you can create the most adorable witches’ brooms. Cut up the string cheese to act as bristles, stick in a pretzel to be the handle, and tie on a chive if you like (you can skip this last part if you’re not a chive fan).

Yum! These make perfect Halloween treats, but are also great festive snacks for any time—be it in the classroom, after school, or for a sleepover.

Which of these variations is your favorite? Do you have any other spooky snack ideas?

This craft is a yummy treat and fun to make with your little ones!

- Wilton Pretzel Mold Kit

Melt the candy melts in microwave safe dish in the microwave at  15 second intervals until soft. Pour the candy melts into the mold. Layering the colors to create a design.  When you have filled just the base, place the pretzel into the mold and continue to fill the rest of the mold with the candy melts.

Once all the molds are filled, place into the refrigerator. Remove molds once the chocolate is solid (approx. 30 minutes). Gently pop the pretzels out of the mold.

Place in pretzel party favor bags or plate to serve. Enjoy!

Easter-themed Chocolate Covered Pretzels!

Still looking for that extra something special to make a statement this Easter Holiday? Scribbleshop.com has got you covered! Surprise friends and loved ones with these adorable and tasty chocolate covered pretzels!

With Wilton Chocolate Candy Molds and Candy Melts, you can easily create festive treats to serve to the family our present as party favors!

To make these yummy Easter delights, you will need:
- Wilton Candy Melts in White
- Wilton Candy Melts in Pink
- Wilton Candy Melts in Light Cocoa
- Wilton Candy Colors (Use as food coloring to make more colors with the White Candy Melts)
-Wilton Easter-themed Candy Molds
- Wilton Pastry Brushes

To start, simply grab a few bags of colorful candy melts. One bag at a time, pour the candy pieces into a zipper-seal plastic bag, place in a microwave-safe dish and microwave 50% power at 30-second intervals stirring in between intervals until it runs smooth.

Decorate portions of the mold by carefully pouring a small amount of the candy melts into each mold using varying colors to create the desired effect.  For the more difficult spaces, use the Wilton pastry brush to reach and fill in the tiny crevices of the mold.

Once you have decorated the lowest layer of the mold and are ready to use a solid colored chocolate to finish, pour a small amount of chocolate into the mold and place the pretzel into the mold. Begin to pour the chocolate and twist the pretzel so that it’s completely covered.

Continue to add chocolate until the mold is filled.

Once the mold is filled, place that mold into the refrigerator until the bottom of mold appears frosty or the candy feels firm. When the molds are ready, pop the chocolate covered pretzels out of the mold. Plate for display or put into chocolate-covered-pretzel party favor bags!
